Subscriptions & Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Google Play app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions → select BrainForge → tap Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
What is the difference between Free and MAX?
Free includes core study tools — flashcards, SM-2 spaced repetition, and basic AI features — with banner ads. MAX ($9.99/month or $89.99/year) removes all ads and unlocks advanced AI features, unlimited storage, and priority support.
I was charged but MAX features are not unlocked. What do I do?
Go to Settings → Account → Restore Purchases to re-sync your subscription. If the problem persists, email support@futureati.app with your Google Play Order ID.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?
All data lives on your device in an encrypted SQLite database (AES-256-GCM). We have no copy. No data is transmitted to any server — not even anonymized analytics.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Export. This produces a .futureai file encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Save it wherever you like — cloud storage, email to yourself, USB drive. Import it on a new device from the first-launch screen.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. This permanently wipes all local data. Because we hold no server-side copy, deletion is immediate and irreversible. Export first if you want a backup.
Is my data shared with advertisers?
No. Your study data never leaves your device and is never shared with advertisers. Free-tier banner ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers per Google's own privacy policy, but it has no access to your study content.
I forgot my account password.
BrainForge uses a local account — there is no server-side password reset. If you have forgotten it, go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Reset Account (this erases local data). If you have a backup .futureai export, you can restore your data afterwards. Contact support@futureati.app if you need further help.

AI & Learning Features

The AI says "I don't know" — why?
This is intentional. BrainForge's AI operates under Three Laws of AI Safety: it will never hallucinate or fabricate an answer it is unsure of. When uncertain, it says so rather than guessing. This is a feature, not a bug — you can trust that what it does say is its best honest answer.
The AI's answer was wrong — what should I do?
The AI is an educational aid, not infallible. If you believe an answer is incorrect, tap the thumbs-down icon on that response to flag it. You can also email support@futureati.app with details. Always cross-reference important information with authoritative sources.
Why is the model download so large (~5 GB)?
BrainForge uses Gemma 4 E4B Q4, a powerful on-device AI model that runs entirely locally so it works without internet. The download happens once; after that the model is stored on your device and requires no further downloads. You cannot delete the model without losing AI features.
How does spaced-repetition (SM-2) work?
BrainForge uses the SM-2 algorithm to schedule flashcard reviews at scientifically optimal intervals. After each review you rate how well you remembered the card; the algorithm adjusts the next review date accordingly — shorter intervals for weak cards, longer for strong ones. This maximizes long-term retention with minimum study time.

Offline & Device Compatibility

Does the app work offline?
Yes. BrainForge runs entirely on-device. No internet connection is required after the initial model download. Study, quiz, and use the AI anywhere — airplane mode, underground, remote areas.
What Android versions are supported?
Android 7.0 (API level 24) and above. Recommended: Android 10+ for best performance with on-device AI.
Can I use this on a tablet?
Yes, on any Android tablet running Android 7.0 (API 24) or higher. The UI is responsive and works well on larger screens.
How much storage space does the app need?
The base app is approximately 119 MB (including the ARM64 llama.cpp native library). The Gemma 4 E4B Q4 AI model requires an additional ~5 GB. Total: approximately 5.1 GB after model download. Ensure you have sufficient free storage before downloading.
